You can bring any medicines and medical equipment that you need to have with you. This includes gel packs or cooler bags to maintain the temperature of your medication, food and specialist devices such as dialysis machines (subject to size regulations), CPAP machines and nebulisers.
Crutches and walking frames can be brought on-board. Our Cabin Crew will store them for you and return them after landing. Walking frames can be stored on board if space is available, or we'll put them into the aircraft hold and return them after landing.
Portable medical equipment can be brought on board in addition to your cabin bag allowance. Portable medical devices must be no larger than 56 x 45 x 25 cm, otherwise they will have to travel in the hold.
Common medical devices that can be brought on board include:
- CPAP machines
- Nebulisers
- TENS machines
- Portable dialysis machines
If you need to bring several medical devices or a large piece of medical equipment, please contact our assistance team at least 48 hours before your flight so that they can advise you.
If you are flying with a passenger who has additional needs, devices we accept on board include Crelling Harnesses, Burnett Body Support and Travel Chairs. For children we also accept the Firefly and CARES. Find out more information about flying with children.
You may need to have certain seats allocated to travel with these devices so please call our assistance team to make these arrangements.
We don't have any additional support systems on board, however, if you're travelling with additional support systems, please contact our assistance team who will be able to check if the item can be accepted and allocate you a seat suitable to the support system.
Comfort aids (such as cushions) can be used on board so long as the aircraft seat belt can still be used.
Please be aware that if you are travelling on one of our partner airlines, on board wheelchairs may not be available. Please contact our assistance team for the detail around your specific flight.
