Specific country travel advice

Due to local security regulations, all passengers, including passengers with cabin bags only, must go to Bag Drop before going through to security. Due to increased security considerations in Egypt, Jordan and Morocco these regulations are strictly adhered to.

Before you fly to Turkey please check that your passport is valid and meets the entry requirements shown on the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs or check your local consular advice, such as the FCDO website.

Visas are not usually required for most EU Citizens or British Passport holders for tourist stays of less than 90 days in any 180 day period. However, there are exceptions such as service passport holders, or British Overseas Citizens, so please check up to date advice before you travel.

Where are the security checks being undertaken?

The extra checks will be conducted at the gate prior to boarding.

Do passengers need to arrive any earlier at the airport or at the gate?

There is no requirement to come to the airport earlier than shown on your confirmation email but please make sure you arrive at the gate as soon as your gate is announced.

Can I take personal electronic items such as laptops, tablets and mobiles with me?

Yes. However, please make sure your devices are charged, as you may be asked to turn them on during the security check. If you cannot turn on your device, you may be required to travel without it or place your item for safe carriage in the hold.

Are you providing chargers for customers at the gate? 

No our aim is we will tell all of our passengers what the requirements are so they will be fully aware before arriving at the airport.

Are all flights affected? 

These additional measures are in place for all flights departing from Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia, and all flights to the UK only, from Morocco and Jordan.

Kosovo nationals should be aware that in order to travel from Kosovo to Switzerland the only acceptable form of documentation is a valid, in date Passport (plus Visa if applicable/required).  Therefore if you are planning to leave Switzerland to travel to Kosovo and return to Switzerland at a later date please ensure you have the correct documentation to enable your return.

Please make sure you select the country code RKS (Republic of Kosovo) when asked to enter your Advanced Passenger Information.

If you are a Gibraltarian or British national living in Gibraltar you can travel between Gibraltar and the UK on your ID card. However, if you are a Gibraltarian resident and you do not have a Gibraltarian ID card, you need to have a valid passport to travel.

Gibraltar is a unique airport due to its proximity to the famous ‘Rock of Gibraltar’. Sometimes , due to weather conditions, we have to land at a nearby airport such as Malaga in Spain and continue your journey by land.

We therefore recommend that your travel documents allow you to enter both Gibraltar and EU countries. If you’re a non EU passport holder you may require a visa.

If you are a non-Dutch national travelling from Marrakech to Amsterdam it is a requirement of the Dutch authorities that you must provide a photocopy of your passport to staff at bag drop, this will be held securely in compliance with required retention periods. This process must be completed in order to travel to Amsterdam.
