With the border and Portugal’s stunning Algarve region just a 30-minute drive to the west, this Spanish seaside resort on Costa de la Luz offers an authentic Andalusian experience. The beach here is just for the fishing industry but the marina is a hub of activity, offering hourly boat trips (starting from 10:30am)  to explore the surrounding waters and the nearby Flecha de El Rompido, a unique natural sandbank perfect for birdwatching and unspoiled beach days. Boat trips are six euros for adults, children are three euros, and you can save a bit of money by purchasing a booklet of tickets.  Being on the coast, the local seafood is also a must-try, with plenty of restaurants serving freshly caught fish and regional specialties – delicious!

Golf enthusiasts will find El Rompido a paradise with its two acclaimed golf courses set against the stunning backdrop of the natural park. The village also boasts various walking and cycling trails through pine forests and salt marshes, which will be ideal for nature lovers.
