Known as the “Granite City”, Aberdeen is actually surprisingly nature-heavy. Set on the stunning Scottish coastline, its famous grey buildings have lengths of sandy beaches at their feet.

Head in the other direction and you’ll find Dunnottar Castle, one of the most breathtaking sights in the region, thanks to its incredible clifftop location with blue sea behind and green grass all around. Then there’s the lavender and chartreuse shades of Royal Deeside (home to Balmoral Castle) over on the northwest. Add in the amber hues of Scotch in every bar (we’re in whisky country now, laddie) and you’ll soon realise this granite-hewn city is a pretty colourful place.
