A former Green Capital of Europe, it’s an intensely liveable, eco-conscious city, with car traffic limited in the centre. Ljubljanica River flows through it all in an emerald-toned ribbon – no cars grace the banks, meaning the way is clear for bikes, cafes and general bonhomie.
