We fully understand that a serious illness could mean that you to need to cancel your flight or that you've missed your flight. If this does happen, we will do everything we can to help you.
What is considered a serious illness?
We consider a serious illness a medical condition that is life-limiting and affects a person’s normal day-to-day activities, making it impossible for them to fly.
With which medical conditions can I fly?
Most medical conditions won’t prevent you from boarding a plane so, for peace of mind, it’s important to be clear about the health concerns you can still fly with and the ones you can’t. If you have a medical condition or illness or if you’re pregnant, you may need to provide a Fitness to Fly Certificate before you can travel. You can find out more on our Medical Information page. We recommend that you obtain travel insurance before you book in case any unexpected illness means you need to change your plans.
What happens if I need to cancel or have missed my flight due to a serious illness?
We're very sorry that you can’t fly because of a serious illness and we'll do our best to help you manage your booking.
